Different locations within Kathmandu valley are selected for one day camps conducted in coordination with health posts, sub health posts, Village Development Committees (VDCs), women’s group and community based organizations (CBOs); District Health Office (DHO) and local clubs for screening and treatment as part of B. P Eye Foundation's commitment to serve neighborhood communities. This service is provided for those who cannot come to the hospital for various reasons. Screening and Treatment Services is provided for eye and ENT problems.
Eye and ENT screening as well as blood pressure and nutritional status assessment of school children at primary and secondary levels reaching out to them at their own schools.• We have adopted our successful model of school screening "Student led screening of visual acuity for refractive error correction" i.e. for the children - by the children in Far western Nepal. This model has been adopted with establishing of Child health club and replicating in various schools.• This club checks vision, hearing health, blood pressure and nutritional status which is cross-checked by experts. Our aim is to reduce the work load of professionals and to promote health through healthy activities.
In pursuit of its mission to strengthen existing health and education systems, BPEF provides support to build their capacity.• One day ORC twice weekly are being held in 4 health centers in remote Kathmandu Valley.• Screening, specialized treatment including Surgeries are provided at door step. As of now regular out-reach clinics are held thrice a week each at Bajrabatrahi Community Hospital at Chapagaun in Lalitpur, Government run PHC at Changunarayan in Bhaktapur and a Community run Manmohan Memorial Community Hospital at Pharping, Kathmandu.
Cataract Surgery is performed in Manmohan Memorial Community Hospital once a month.
